Setting up computerised accounts systems
There are many benefits to using accounting software, reports and management accounts can be produced quickly and easily and it will make the production of your year-end accounts and tax returns much smoother. We can help you tailor a system to meet your requirements and provide on going support and guidance to ensure you are fully confident in how to use it.
Budgeting and cashflow forecasting
Drawing up a budget can be quite daunting, especially if your activities are changing, you are starting up a new company or if cashflow is going to be an issue. We can provide support and guidance in helping you through this process, enabling you to produce a budget that you can monitor your performance against over time.
Getting the price right is obviously critical in running any enterprise. We can help work out what each of your services is costing you to deliver and therefore establish where the break-even point is. This will help you evaluate what needs to be done in order to make your project successful.
Guidance on preparing management accounts
The ability to make decisions about the direction of your project is of key importance; you need a realistic budget and up to date, accurate information to compare it to as the project unfolds. This is what management accounts are for, they will help you spot potential problems and take action. We can support and guide you in bringing your budget and bookkeeping records together to produce your own management accounts, helping you to stay on the ball.
Often overlooked, having a clear set of controls and procedures in place means that everyone in the organisation knows what to do, from receiving cash income to purchasing goods or taking on new members of staff. We can help you to produce a set of procedures or a finance policy, enabling you to stay in control.
Bookkeeping guidance and support
Reliable finance reports can only be produced using reliable financial information, in other words up to date, accurate bookkeeping records. If you are a limited company, the maintenance of up to date records is a legal requirement. Even if you are not a company, you will need accurate records to ensure you are paying the right amount of tax if that is applicable. We can help you set up an appropriate bookkeeping system and provide ongoing support to help you stay on top.
If you have any query, large or small, regarding the financial affairs of your organisation you can call us for help. We are well versed on matters relating to third sector finances, which as you are probably aware can sometimes be quite tricky due to the variety of sources of income eg, grants, service level agreements and sales, and also as there is quite a variety of legal structures which organisations in this sector might take.
