Services Supplied
Based on market research and marketing strategy (carried out by other professionals) work with client on possible ways to achieving sales based on resources available. Assess alternatives. Produce Report.
Discuss pros and cons of various appropriate structures with client. Recommend most appropriate structure(s). Produce report. Incorporate company if appropriate.
Decide audience (internal use or external for fund raising). Write plan with input from client. Produce income projection, balance sheet projection and cash flow. Test viability (sensitivity analyses) Set up monitoring procedure.
Financial Awareness for Business Owners
Finance for the non-financial. Useful ratios to measure progress. How to delegate but remain in financial control. Produce handouts/worksheets or report. (Can deliver as 1-to-1 or to a board/executive committee meeting). Revisit to monitor progress.
Assessment of Internal Processes
Meet with client administrator, obtain details, review systems including accounting, produce report, with recommendations. Discuss with client. Follow up visit if required.
Maintenance of Accounting Records (for specified period of time)
Inputting transactions to accounting system, reconciling bank account. Schedule debtors and creditors and points for consideration by client and discussion with client.
Supporting Client to Maintain Own Accounting Records
Choosing a suitable system, support on inputting and error correction. How to deal with expenses and petty cash. Bank reconciliation, debtors and creditors. Report on current position.
Decide process with client (telephone call, letter etc.) Obtain list of debtors and invoices from client. Contact debtors to obtain payment or details of queries. Liaise with client and produce report.
Obtain details of employees, process monthly payroll, send reports to client with payslips and details of month end HMRC payments. File year end return.
Analysis of costs (fixed and variable). Breakeven point analysis. Produce notes/spreadsheet template/report (as appropriate).
Discuss reporting requirements with client (quarterly, half-yearly/whether accruals required). Give advice on designing and using "flash results". Arrange timetable for work. Produce accounts.
Prepare accounts from information supplied, calculate year end adjustments (debtors, creditors, depreciation etc.) Discuss with client with recommendations for the future as appropriate.
Obtain information from client. Produce tax return and computation, meet and discuss with client and obtain approval. Submit return, computation and accounts to HMRC. (We will ask you to appoint us as your agent so that the tax authorities will send us copies of information sent to you and discuss matters with us.)
Obtain terms of employment from client and draft contract. Discuss with client and finalise.
Discuss policies and procedures with client and produce draft handbook. Discuss with client and finalise.
Present to client board on duties under Companies Act, Charities Act, client's constitution.
Discuss with client the red tape which affects the business and draw up a compliance calendar. Cover on-line filing HMRC, Companies House, Charities Commission etc.
